MORE ABOUT FOODSHARE’S SOCIAL ENTERPRISE

By purchasing from FoodShare, you're joining us in our vision: a Toronto where everyone can feed themselves, their loved ones, and their communities with dignity and joy.

Since 1994, our fresh produce social enterprise has supported FoodShare in delivering community food programs across Toronto. Unrestricted revenue earned through our social enterprise funds activities that would not otherwise be priorities from our funders’ perspectives. Your purchase helps FoodShare and the communities we work alongside to advance food justice and advocate to dismantle the systems of oppression that hold poverty and food insecurity in place. You can learn more about the impact of your purchase on communities across Toronto here.

If you’d like to maximize your support of FoodShare, we thank you and encourage you to consider subscribing to some of our higher priced items (if you're able). Income from items like the large produce box, the organic produce boxes, a meat box, or add-on items offsets the need to increase the price of the small produce box. We are committed to keeping the small produce box as affordable and accessible as possible.

Some other important things about our social enterprise:

~We are proud to be a living wage employer, registered with the Ontario Living Wage Network.

~We are registered with Buy Social Canada, as a certified social enterprise.

~The food waste from our social enterprise feeds into FoodShare’s compost program, which is one of Toronto’s largest nonprofit compost programs.

Thank you for your support!
